Ashleigh started making ceramics in high school and did it for about 5 years before taking a very long hiatus. After having her second kiddo almost 3 years ago, She needed a hobby where she could have some “me time” and I fell in love with ceramics all over again. She likes to make functional pieces with fun colorful styles so people can add more sustainable accessories to their homes.
She keeps her ceramics work sustainable by reducing and reusing at nearly every step. Any clay that is trimmed off a piece is reclaimed/reprocessed to be used as throwing clay again. She filters and saves water throughout the process until it is no longer usable, and then it is used to water the flowers in her garden. All the glaze that is washed off my brushes cannot go down the drain. So instead of throwing it out, IShe filters it down and saves it to be used as a “mystery glaze”.
